Olivia

I fell into a dreamless sleep last night and woke up late. I had to hurry because I didn't want to be late. To say I was confused was an understatement. I gave myself emotional whiplash. “Yes, that’s her. Boomer and I are taking Teagan and Jesiah shopping.”

I watch as Father puts down his paper before reaching into his back pocket and pulling out his wallet. He unfolds his wallet and pulls out a card before handing it to me.

“Today’s shopping is on me. For everyone.”

“I can pay, Father.”

“I know, pumpkin. Now give me a kiss and be on your way.”

I drop a kiss on each of their cheeks before taking the Amex Black from his hand. I take a moment to tuck it into my wallet. As I did, I noticed my name was printed on the card.
